my painter's pants that i did myself. this is the second pair i've done, the first pair had to be thrown away - i get better with each attempt. i still have a ways to go until i can make a pair look like the ones that shannon and i saw in washington dc last spring, still pissed i didn't take a photo of them.

INSOMNIA

it is late. i can't sleep. i just changed my alarm from 5:30 to 6:30, there will be no morning four mile run.

i've read, i've drank hot milk, i've tried to go to bed three times, i've taken some things that should knock me out (twice) but i'm still wide awake.

i'm now online shopping. tonight it is ebay and i am currently obsessing over this vintage 1950s belstaff trialmaster. i do need a wax jacket, don't have one of those, and i've been wanting a belstaff...

SURF SUN SHOPPING

finally posting photos from my work trip to los angeles. had to go out there for a long weekend of surf competitions, beach visiting, and shopping - rough life i know.

we stayed at the mondian, i love the hollywood hills / west hollywood so the location couldn't have been any better.

REBIRTH AT 25

holy shit i am now 25 years old! this initially had me completely freaked out as i am now no longer in my young 20s; however, i've decided to embrace it and make year 25 the best one of my life. its time to be reborn a new more determined, open, confident, happy, independent, and risk-taking mid-twenty year old. to symbolize this rebirth i decided to get rid of my hair. as i explained this to josh, my hair guy, he said that in some native-american cultures individuals believe that hair can carry with you bad things / baggage that has happened in the past. they often cut their hair after major events to get rid of the old and prepare them for fresh starts. i want to start year 25 fresh and only take the lessons from the previous 25 along with me to ensure this year is fucking amazing!

IT IS MY BIRTHDAY AND I CAN CRY IF I WANT TO!

can someone please try to explain to me why gucci america did not buy these boots in this color? it is my birthday and i wanted to get them today as a nice little 25th bday present to myself but nooooooooooooooo, gucci america only bought them in tan. now i'm being a spoiled brat and am mad that i have to wait until europe next month to buy them. thank you gucci europe for having some sense.

NEW JEANS

i hate that i haven't posted in over a week. i did not start this blog to update so infrequently. however, my best friend / roommate moved to dallas this morning so i was spending as much time as possible with him and this past weekend i was in los angeles for work (expect a post about that later this week). go-forward i hope to spend a lot more time on this blog, so stay tuned and keep me honest!

anyway...

such a pleasant surprise to walk into american rag in los angeles this past weekend and find these amazing raf by raf simons jeans for 50% off. it was a nice little early birthday gift to myself. it is always so difficult to find a pair of jeans that fit me how i want them to so when i do i have no issues spending the cash money on them. the nontraditional back pocket details are also quite nice. these are definitely going to be making an appearance here quite often, i love them.

i love summer and wearing tank tops while out and about. this is a new one i just got from shades of greige. great summer-weight fabric, henley details, nice back seaming details, it is just well done. a lot of thought went into this tank which i appreciate because too often solid tanks are lackluster.

i tried to take a close up of the tank to show the nice details and ended up with this picture. makes me look like i have hair plugs, sexy.

i need a haircut - probably going to go with a buzz.
