OH NO THEY DIDN'T

so...the above screenshot of http://www.style.com/ tells me that mrs. wintour either has no say over the website content (which i doubt) or that somebody took a big risk by putting ms. snookie on the front page. as much as i enjoy her shenanigans, i do not think she should share page space with elizabeth taylor and the ONE AND ONLY CARINE ROITFELD! what's next? an article about relationships featuring rachel uchitel opposite a few street shots of style goddess anna della russo? blasphemy.

mrs. wintour, please take care of this immediately.

SPEECHLESS

i have already confessed my love for chanel, what i haven't confessed is one of my favorite guilty pleasure - "the city." the show is just so ridiculous that i can't help but watch it. from olivia being a total bitch to kelly cutrone being, well, kelly cutrone, the show is just entertaining. after kelly my favorite character on the show would have to be joe zee (minus him letting olivia get away with murder). i love his office and his sense of style...slash...i want to be him.

for chanel's fall/winter 2010 ready to wear show was all about faux fur. we became instantly aware of this when karl opened with full faux-fur yeti suits:

well, joe from the city managed to get himself a suit and went on hilarious "wear-test" around nyc:

i can't even describe how amazing this is. joe zee sunning himself in the middle of central park wearing a chanel yeti suit?!?!?! joe zee wearing a chanel yeti suit asking how to get to the central park zoo? joe zee pushing through the crowd to find a starbucks to get a beverage to cool down with after a day in a chanel yeti suit? i could watch this video for days. what i could also do, well, what i would also love to do is try one of those damn things on myself! here is me and baptiste before a night out in chamonix:

MORE BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING

it may be 100 degrees outside but i can't help but get excited about the new fall sets that are finding their way online. buying fall clothes in july is ridiculous but when the offerings are as good as TOPMAN LTD's latest collection i can't help but buy.

i'm envisioning some great layering with this equestrian print tank. and while i wait for the weather to cool down i can wear it as is. add to cart.

these pants were mentally mine the instant i saw them. i'm loving the idea of corduroy pants for fall and i like how this pair is updated with the twill fabric insert on the leg, side buttons, and the slight pleating on the front. these are very fresh and i can't wear to wear the hell out of these this fall. add to cart.

i love quilting. this is nothing new. put quilting on a back panel on a t-shirt and i'm going to get excited. make that t-shirt in heather grey and i will buy it. add to cart.

i own a lot of heather grey knits. new, vintage, french terry, fleece, birds eye, i got it. what i don't have is a one that's moved on with a shoulder button detail. so i will just go ahead and...add to cart.

so these might not be the prorsum or gucci boots from below but i love them just as much. these are super workwear inspired and really butch, something i need more of in my life...add to cart.

pissed that this is out of stock.

TRANS ATLANTIC VOYAGE

like i've said previously, my birthday is coming up - august 12th.

this outfit would be ideal for a trip to europe.
the sandals would make going through airport security a breeze.
the shirt would be promptly replaced by a white v-neck once in the air and put back on prior to landing.
the pants are comfortable for a long flight.
the bag would hold all the necessities.
the hat would hide the bedhead after a long flight.

BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING

these burberry prorsum boots (WITH THE FUR!) were love at first site when i saw them walking down the fall '10 runway.

these prorsum boots are gorgeous as well and a touch more practical, i'll take the brown ones please.

i will be in london in september and will have to make a stop at the burbery store to see if i can try these on.

but it looks like i'll also have to stop by gucci as these boots are a nice twist on a classic brogue.

there is just something so satisfying about wearing boots and walking through a foot of snow like you couldn't give a damn. i don't want to wish the summer away but i can't wait to do this! the right boots can just be so powerful and i love the idea of having some kickass ones for fall that just scream:

THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING

AND THAT'S JUST WHAT THEY'LL DO

ONE OF THESE DAYS THESE BOOTS ARE GONNA WALK ALL OVER YOU

ACNE

ACNE (ambition to create novel expressions) is definitely one of my favorite brands out there today. i love their simple, easy, classic with a twist pieces they offer.

i've been lusting after these pants for quite a while and it is only a matter of hours before i "check-out" as they are sitting patiently in my cart at www.acnestudios.com . i'm not really a fan of belts so i love how the belt is built into the pant using the same fabric. the fit looks great, love that it looks a tad high-waisted.

plus, like i've said before, i'm a sucker for white v-necks and ACNE went in for the kill with me when they merchandised these pants with a v-neck and AMAZING sandals (which i also want in my life).

in fact, i think i'd look quite good in this outfit...

for S/S 2010 ACNE partnered with french sunglass designer thierry lasry to make some sunglasses that must become part of my life. i mean, SHIT!

not bad, though it is probably just the angle...

PARIS-SHANGHAI...COLUMBUS

it is no secret that i love karl lagerfeld.

chanel's resort & pre-fall runway shows are two of my favorites of the year. the chanel team does an amazing job creating an experience that is second-to-none. the clothes, the location, the time, EVERYTHING comes together so beautifully to create the ultimate presentation. i can't help but to appreciate all of the behind the scenes work it must take.

the pre-fall 2010 collection, Paris-Shanghai, is my favorite of the "city" collections. karl did a stunning job of taking chanel's signature look and twisting it with china's heritage and history.

i'm usually not one for huge logos or obvious branding; however, i can't get enough of this military hat from the collection.

HANES WHITE V & A HAIRCUT

before

and after

more often than not you will find me running around in jeans and a plain white v-neck.

the other day i came across my beat to shit converse chuck taylor's and have been enjoying them being back in my life. i'm also loving my cheap $10 sunglasses that i recently picked up from urbn. my go-to trinity of accessories (turquoise magnetic necklace, yellow g-shock watch, orange stephen sprouse graffiti louis vuitton wallet) add the color.
