PATIO/WINE/BURGER

no better way to end one of the last summer weekends of the year than with a patio, glass of wine, and a burger.  add in my new band of outsiders shirt and perfection has been achieved.

SATURDAYS

woke up feeling a bit melancholic so decided on some retail therapy.  found it in the form of a band of outsiders pink tie dye button down.  photo quality is shit and so i will be doing some more retail therapy in the form of a new camera at some point tomorrow (well, it is also for europe - which makes me feel like it is a practical purchase).  i lusted after this shirt a month or two ago when i first saw it in stores and couldn't pass it up when it was on sale today.  thank you milk bar.  

i also finally finished my princepelayo inspired diy safety pin t-shirt today.  it is quite melodic when i walk so friends are going to have to just deal with it when i wear it.  i love how heavy this shirt is.

my favorite way to clear my mind when it is racing or thinking about things i'd rather it not is a run.  today was beautiful without a cloud in the sky, low eighties, and low humidity.  to not go on a run would have been a sin.  after a punishing run in the midday heat i took a nice cool-down walk through my neighborhood and ended up snapping a lot of photos with my phone.

without a doubt nature provides the best inspiration.  we wouldn't have beautiful flowers without insects and they were out in full-force today.

i've never shot a gun in my life (other than a bb gun once in 7th grade) but this amazing sweater/henley by filson makes me want to put on some waders and go duck hunting.  

1. i love henleys (or anything that i can wear unbuttoned to show some chest)

2. i'm getting very excited for fall weather and sweaters

3. i enjoy a good neutral

4. you can't tell in this photo but there is a nice sunburst quilting detail at the wearer's right shoulder (to keep me comfortable while i'm shooting ducks)

5. i can only imagine how amazing the top section in oil cloth will looks after years of wear and tear

6. color blocking in authentic hunting gear?

7. it is kind of the sweater henley variant of those topman corduroy pants that i loved, bought, and had to return because they were more riding leggings than pants.

STANDARD

on august 18th target held their target kaleidoscope fashion spectacular at the standard hotel to showcase their new fall fashions. they used the standard as an amazing giant runway / piece of art. target had 66 models in 155 rooms and the results, as seen in the photo above via queerty, are spectacular. tmagazine's blog has more amazing photos of the hotel mid-presentation. i literally gasped out loud when i saw the images. having stayed at the hotel back in january, i can only imagine what this would have looked like in person. i wish i could have been there!!

also, they obviously should have used me as one of the 66 models as i do have some experience at the standard, ha...

(omg, look at that hair!!! i kind of miss it...? also, i'm getting excited about fall and getting my james perse long sleeve pocket tees out, so soft and amazing with the perfect level of authentic destroy.)

PRIORITIES

i specifically had a very productive saturday so i could enjoy my sunday guilt-free.

i wish i could say i was listening to this cool obscure band that you've never heard of and you instantly fall in love with them when you check them out. i'm actually listening to enrique iglesias featuring pitbull "i like it" on repeat. guilty pleasure.
