SAMPLE SALE

a few weeks ago i went to work's sample sale and picked up a couple of things.  the event is a nightmare.     it opens at 8am so you get there at about 7:30 to wait in line before entering the distribution center to search for needles in haystacks.  things are super cheap ($3 for anything but outerwear/bags which are $20.  items with holes are free) and you can find some good stuff; however, i usually loose interest in 30 minutes.  the below photo illustrates why.

this year's sample sale theme was cold weather (at least for me).  i only seemed to find pieces that can be worn in cold weather: jackets, scarves, and sweaters.  after a dry cleaner's bill that was larger than the actual sample sale total, and the cooler weather of fall, i'm able to start wearing some of the items i picked up.  one of my favorite pieces is this vintage sherpa lined jacket.  the fabric and pattern are amazing and the fit isn't too bad.  it is missing one button but i don't even think i could button it up if i wanted to (thank you freakishly large shoulders).  this photo was taken in the mecca of fashion itself - a mall is middle america...

turquoise is one of my favorite colors.  orange is one of my favorite colors.  a clear blue sky is one of my favorite things.

jacket - vintage
henley - rag & bone
jeans - raf by raf simons
shoes - toms
